The Town of Peralta Fire Department is composed of volunteers who perform fire suppression and other related emergency services for our local jurisdiction, 24/7.

The Fire Department has been serving the community of Peralta for many years prior to incorporation in 2007.

Volunteer firefighters go through the same training as career personnel do. When volunteers join a department they commit themselves to obtaining training in all aspects of fire protection, which amounts to many years of continual training on the latest most up to date techniques in fire protection. All of this is done by volunteers without the benefit of a compensation schedule other that the gratitude from the communities they will serve.

Chief John Dear/ Retired

Chief Dear lives in Peralta with his wife Angelique.  He has an extensive background in Law Enforcement and Fire Protection Services. Chief Dear has been with Peralta Fire Department since 1988. He has been serving as Fire Chief since 1992. The Dears’ have three sons who are also volunteers with The Peralta Fire Department.
